Hello and welcome,
Even though I have been a creator in various forms before corporate life got in the way, I had a love of writing, and a passion for photography and enjoyed ceramics & painting. In 2020 during the infamous Victorian lockdowns, I picked up brushes and paint and found an old joy. To my surprise, I found painting relaxing and a real mindset saver during the lockdowns. My husband and I would sit in the garden or in our patio and paint, sometimes in silence and sometimes chatting as we unwound from the day. Interestingly, through various family members, I have since found out my grandmother was an avid watercolour & charcoal artist. |
Where we live, we are so fortunate and back onto a beautiful vista that showers us with nature, bird life, changing weather, sunrises, and sunsets. Often, depending on the weather, we have easels set up in our enclosed patio area. This area looks out onto the vista which enjoys great sunlight and some fabulous breezes in summer along with inspiration for bush artworks.
Otherwise, you can find me painting in my affectionately known "little art shed". As a mixed media artist my artwork is produced with an array of mediums including acrylic paints, charcoal, pastels, pencils, and watercolour. In mid 2023 I started on collage projects and experimenting with gelli printing, both have been fun and made their way into my finished artworks. |
During the school terms, I facilitate six-week adult art classes at the local community service centre. I enjoy facilitating classes throughout the year. The centre classes focus on a variety of mediums and genre's including charcoal, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media, pastels and gouache.
Students were wanting more classes in between terms, so in term two break of 2023, I commenced a Creative Circle held at Art in the Garden Room. This program was so popular the first workshop sold out in a matter of days. Currently, I facilitate over 120 sessions per year. Art classes often have the "sold out" sign on them within a week of launch. Creative Circle workshops have proven a hit as we dive into tapping into our creative journey. We discover many ways to find our artistic voice including sketchbook creation, colour palette swatching, abstraction, and plein air to name a few. Each term focuses on an area of exploration and creation. Places are limited to six creative places to ensure everyone has the best possible experience. I also have two private clients and run fortnightly group classes covering a range of mediums and styles. Monthly, on Saturdays I hold a free en plein air excursion, taking advantage of the beautiful bayside suburbs and surrounds.
