MONTHLY PAINT OUT
(EN PLEIN AIR)
MONTHLY PAINT OUT (EN PLEIN AIR) PLEASE REGISTER BELOW
En plein air, a French phrase meaning “in the open air,” describes the process of painting a landscape outdoors. Artists venture into natural settings, to capture the play of light, colour, and atmosphere from nature. Being outdoors contrasts with studio painting, it allows for spontaneity in your artwork. It was from France and the Impressionists movement eventually spreading throughout the world.
Your plein air works can be finished artworks in their own right, or you can use them as an invaluable reference for future artwork in your studio.
Join Lee monthly at various locations around the Bayside area for untutored en plein air sessions*. Sessions are free Bookings are essential.
Sessions are expected to go ahead whatever the weather unless it is unsafe to do so. Registration is essential as communication will be sent out if the planned session is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
Sessions run for 2 hours from 10 am and depending on the location an optional visit to a cafe afterwards may occur. Every effort will be made to find a location with shelter and if possible public amenities.
